Shafiqa Habib is one of the distinguished women rights activist, professional and expert journalist and outstanding News Speaker

Mrs Shafiqa Habibi was the first female presenter on the government television channel, after having completed her qualifications from the Journalism Faculty of Kabul University. Mrs Habibi has been awarded the prize for the best presenter of Radio Television Afghanistan a record 5 times during her career.She received the 21 Leaders for the 21st century Award 2002 from USA and she is also  2002 Ida B. Wells Bravery in Journalism Award Winner from USA New York.   
Mrs Habibi is married to renowned journalist Dr Mahmoud Habibi and at the moment is involved in projects relating to Womens Rights and training of young journalists. She is currently 68 years old.

During unorganized and bad situation of internal war, Mrs. Habibi did not leave her homeland and during any kind of situation she kept the women democracy and freedom flag waving.
Mrs. Habibi has attended many conferences related to Afghanistan issues as one of women right activists and The New Afghanistan women Association
Mrs. Habibi says: We struggle but nor I and neither any other woman can say that we are successful, success is a valuable term, we are successful the time that we could be able to bring positive changes in Afghan women life, we are successful when ever at least we literate 20% of woman to know their Islamic and human rights, we can call our selves successful when ever we bring changes in Afghan men behaviour for improvement of Afghan women circumstances, we have a long way liable and she has forwarded the Afghan women voice to international society.....

Shafiqa Habibi is founder and director of Afghan Women Journalist Union (AWJU) and she is also founder and director of New Afghanistan Women Association (NAWA).

And she is the member of Afghan Women Network (AWN)
